Warrior Dash 2012
Yesterday, I got to run the Warrior Dash race again. I had done it last year but felt like I was in a lot better shape for it this year after a lot of weight training (mainly upper body.)
The results were better than expected. I’m still a slow runner but the obstacles were a total breeze. They were actually a bit of a relief to go through, especially the climbing ones, because I could use my upper body to get me by and give my legs the rest they needed. It is hard on the joints because they feature a lot of hills and trail running, in addition to the obstacles. I’m a little sore today, but mainly from the hills.
I need to do some more cardiovascular training and lose more weight. My buddy Sean has made an amazing transformation just by making simple choices and sticking with his training in the last year. I think I’m going to start biking with him on Riverside.
I had a lot of fun and can’t wait to do it next year.
